From the Manufacturer
The Frye Company is the oldest continuously operated shoe company in the United States. Founded in 1863 by John A. Frye, a well-to-do shoemaker from England, and family-run until 1945, Frye products have a long and illustrious history. Frye boots were worn by soldiers on both sides of America's Civil War, soldiers in the Spanish-American war, and by Teddy Roosevelt and his Rough Riders. When home-steading drew adventurous New England families to the West during the mid and late 1800's many of the pioneers wore Frye Boots for the long journey. Today Frye remains true to its roots with its line of heritage boots, but continues to innovate as it introduces chic new handbags, pumps, and sandals to its collection.

5A great boot
By Edward P. Rafter
Buying shoes on-line can be chancy but these boots are excellent. The Brogue styling and the distinctive color are an eye catcher. I strongly recommend these boots for their styling, quality and representative of American craftsmanship.

5The best shoe I have ever owned.
By conrad
When I was a Marine Corps Drill Instructor in the mid 50' I had my "Boondocks" crape soled, as did many other DI's. We were on the drill field for hour and really all the comfort we could get. Now at the age of 77 I'm in fair shape for the shape I'm in. I have three pairs of Frye hightop lace up boots hand made in Mexico of good quality leather that support my feet, ankles, knees and legs. I have had one knee replacement and that was not cheap, so if your like me and need good support check these out. They are not cheap and I am financially flush, but my health is important to me. God bless you. Conrad

5Unique
By Mark Gammell
Nice boots. I needed a pair of boots for work. I'm a lab tech and stand all day. I tried some Danners (great quality, not a good fit), Dr. Martens (my old standby, but the Isaacs' styling was just blah). I ordered these and after returning them for a half size bigger, had found my boots. Whew. I'd say they run on the small side, but within the "normal" range. The leather is good quality, and soft right out of the box. The sole is fairly pliable, so almost no break-in period. My only complaint is that the sole has a bit of a curve to it, so my toes stick up a tiny bit. Pretty minor niggle though (no one has said I look like an elf). Had them about a month now. These boots look really cool with my required dress pants at work (they look like a nice casual wing tip shoe), and even better with jeans. They looked good at first, but now that they're getting broken in they look even better. I didn't like the leather laces at first, but I've been too lazy to change them and have come to like them now. I use Dr. Martens Wonder Balsam on them, but Frye makes some stuff that I'm sure is just as good. Take care of your boots and they'll take care of you!
